Gaby Espino, one of Telemundo’s leading soap actresses, will be hosting the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2015 next to Mexican singer and actor Pedro Fernández at the BankUnited Center in Miami, FL on April 30. The Venezuelan host says she’ll do whatever it takes to have “good chemistry” on stage with Fernández.
“We have never seen each other in person. We will have to meet and bond right before the ceremony so we can at least have some chemistry when we get on stage.” Espino told The Associated Press during a phone interview. She also commented that she has always admired Pedrito Fernández.
She also shared that she is looking forward to have fun during the acclaimed event: “I’m Latina, and Latinos definitely love music. We love to dance, we are loud. I love music, I’m always listening to the radio and paying attention to the latest tunes. I enjoy anything from reggaetón to ballads.”
This is not the first time that Espino hosts an event of this type. She has been the presenter of “Premios Tu Mundo” since 2012, and last year she took over the talent show contest “Buscando mi ritmo.” The Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will air live on Telemundo, won’t be a challenge for the gorgeous host.
During her interview with AP, she was reminded that during these type of awards, hosts tend to want to break the mold and go overboard to entertain the audience. The actress assured that she would never sing: “No! Not even in the shower! I don’t sing.” Said Gaby with laughter.
This year, Romeo Santos and Enrique Iglesias lead the Award ceremony with 21 and 19 nominations, respectively. Followed by J. Balvin with 12. Don’t forget to tune in on Telemundo on April 30 7pm/6c.
