Reviving past series that hit it well is nothing new. One show headed that route is “CSI: Vegas.”
While it is nostalgic and something TV series-loving fans would love, there is also the question of whether it would have the same flare they had when they originally showed years back. The same argument could be held on two series from Fox Entertainment – “24” and “Glee.”
It appears Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn is open to the idea of bringing back both although nothing is set in stone. The best to expect is that there have been creative discussions. But as far as seeing them happen is another story.
In the case of “24,” there is a chance that the Kiefer Sutherland starred terrorism drama series may return. There are active discussions underway although that is about it.
Talks about reviving “24” have cropped up in the past. But will it be a returning Sutherland or someone else? These are all part of the things that need to be ironed out first before a revived “24” happens.
"There's still a possibility, there's still some discussions with the producers on a take that we have yet to hear," Thorn said to Deadline. "There [are] some active creative discussions that are happening."
As far as a “Glee” reboot, it is practically in the same situation as that of “24.” Talk about reviving it has been mentioned in the past with series co-creator Ryan Murphy teasing the idea of what he had in mind on Instagram.
"If I had access to that talent, here's the new pilot: Lea and Ben are frenemies who fight for the heart and soul of Glee Club. Ben is also on the football team, and pretty much sleeps with the entire school and is the heartthrob of McKinley. Beanie is their mutual best friend, and torn. Suddenly, Beanie joins forces with Sue Sylvester, joins Glee Club and becomes the main soloist and the ruthless star of the club. Lea and Ben have to then join forces to dethrone her. I WANT TO SHOOT THIS DO OVER PILOT. Maybe I will?" his IG post read.
The good news is that discussions are being made. But as far as seeing a reboot may take some time.
