‘Food Wars!’ Spoilers: Erina Nakiri Meets Her Mother, Mana Nakiri

The big reveal about Erina’s mother will be a major foil for the latest arc of “Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma.” As the series enters its 300th chapter, its creators are marking this milestone by dropping the piece that will complete Erina Nakiri’s family puzzle.

Currently, the series is in the mid of an arc in which Soma is competing against underworld chefs. In the most recent chapter, it was revealed that the one taking control of the competition was Mana Nakiri, Erina’s mother.

In the latest chapter, fans saw the competition take a major leap as Soma and the rest of the gang geared up for a major tournament, in which Erina would have to face up with several Noir chefs. Later on, Erina found out that there’s a Bookmaster behind the scenes who was pulling the strings throughout the competition, making it harder for her to have an edge.

When Erina decided to face the Bookmaster to air her feelings to her, she discovered that the Bookmaster was actually her mother. Unfortunately, she did not have any interest in her daughter’s Divine Tongue talents.

Eager to prove herself to her mother, Erina declared that she would show her that she’s better than she thought and that she’s capable of doing things that could surprise her. It remains to be seen if Erina will succeed in her quest, but one thing is for sure: her mother is not going to make things easy for her.

Mana Nakiri is one of the missing pieces of the Nakiri family puzzle. Before she was introduced in the series, the other once unknown family members of the family had made their way to the story, including her father, Azami; her cousin; aunt; and grandfather.

By the looks of it, Mana Nakiri will be just like Azami, who thought little of Erina’s talent. There are speculations that Nakiri’s mother will serve as the main villain in the current arc.

“Food Wars!” debuted in the Weekly Shonen Jump in 2012. It follows the story of Soma Yukihira, a young chef whose vision is to take over their family diner. As he seeks to survive in school, he needs to beat all the young chefs who get in the way of his dream.
