Since “Arrow” ended, most have not seen or heard about Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). Most know that his character was written off but the multiverse had different ways of raising anyone from the dead.
With “The Flash” in its final season, Amell will return to reprise his role on the ninth episode, something that was bared by the 41-year-old actor himself on social media was captioned: “What an honor to be back.”
Considering it was Arrow who set the tone for the path of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), it was only fitting to have Queen back in the final season of “The Flash.”
"After all, it was Oliver who originally launched Barry Allen on his heroic path. That's why everyone on Team Flash felt so strongly that it was important to create a full-circle moment with Oliver's return in the final season of The Flash. The result is an epic-yet-emotional episode we hope Arrowverse fans will enjoy,” the “Flash” showrunner Eric Wallace stated.
Also returning on “The Flash” Season 9 will be David Ramsey's John Diggle, Keiynan Lonsdale's Wally West, and Sendhil Ramamurthy's Bloodwork. Before them, returning guest stars include Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder / Batwoman and Nicole Maines as Nia Nal / Dreamer.
"It's all to say 'thank you' to everyone for watching and supporting our show throughout nine wonderful years. We absolutely cannot wait for everyone to see Grant Gustin] and Stephen saving the world together again. And yes, there will be thrills, chills, and tears," Wallace added.
It will be recalled that Oliver Queen died on the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” mega-crossover event. At the time, Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz weighed in on the exit of Amell’s character and left it to the hands of the handlers of other shows and Amell, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
“That’s up to the other shows, and that’s up to Stephen, really,” Schwartz said back in January 2020.
