Film, television, and music will be celebrated this Thursday at the first-ever edition of Rolling Stones en Español Awards.
The event will be hosted by Mexican actress Renata Notni and will take place at the Miami Beach's Fillmore Theatre. "Award winners are voted by editors of Rolling Stone from around the world, Latino industry leaders, audience members, and opinion leaders," detailed the publication about the ceremony. The publication's audience will also be able to pick its favorite nominee, the event adds.
"Leaving aside metrics, genres or borders, the Rolling Stone Awards in Spanish seeks to highlight creations that have an outstanding cultural impact, innovation, originality, audacity, quality and an important contribution to the industry. In an unforgettable night with special hosts, live shows and other experiences curated to the highest standards, Rolling Stone en Español will reward the best creations of the year and provide visibility to the talent of Spanish-speaking artists and creators," it added.
The nominations, which were released back in August, have Bad Bunny at the lead with six mentions and Rosalia with five, while Natalia Lafourcade and Juanes have four nominations each. They will compete with Bizarrap, Christian Nodal, Feid, Ile, Jorge Drexler, Shakira and Fito Páez, all nominated for the fan-favorite category of artist of the year.
When it comes to TV series of the year, "Belascoarán", "División Palermo" and "El Amor Después Del Amor" are among the nominated. The audiovisual categories also include videoclip of the year, musical producer of the year, movie of the year, performance of the year, director of the year and documentary of the year.
Expect to see performances by top Latino artists such as Jay Wheeler, Anuel AA, Carin León, Ozuna, Ivy Queen, and more.
Additionally, there will be special awards handed out such as "Voz De La Audiencia" which includes nominees Bad Gyal , Elena Rose, Myke Towers, and Ryan Castro.
"It is important that there are award platforms that are focused on art and creativity. The Hispanic community is in a historic moment, and a large part of our responsibility, at Rolling Stone en Español, is to show the world the artists who will be marked in history for their bravery and the power of their art," said CEO of Rolling Stones en Español, Diego Ortiz, in a press release.
Rolling Stones en Español will be available to stream in Latin America through TNT and HBO Max.
