Firefox OS Phones Conquer Mexico, Uruguay And Peru

Firefox OS phones have launched in Latin America: the Firefox operated phones have launched in Mexico, Uruguay and Peru thanks to Telefonica. Both the ZTE Open and the Alcatel One Touch Fire are now available in Mexico, while the ZTE Open launched in Peru and the Alcatel One Touch has become available in Uruguay. Last week, Telefonica also launched the LG Fireweb in Brazil. Firefox OS is now available in nine countries.

The move is part of Firefox's plan for the mobile operating systems global expanison. "In India, parts of the country don't have Wi-Fi or wireless coverage - or much power, either," said Mozilla hardware chief Li Gong in a
