Ferrari F150 teaser Ferrari

Having trouble figuring out what is the main event at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show? Ferrari is slated to debut its latest ultimate supercar and the buzz ahead of Geneva promises that the unveiling will be nothing less than sensational.

Internally known as Ferrari F150, the Ferrari Enzo successor boasts cutting edge technology that will blur the line between the automobile and the alien Formula 1 car.

This is what we know so far: the powertrain is a V12 engine combined with a trick HY-KERS hybrid system. Transferring the power to the rear wheels is an in-house developed dual-clutch gearbox capable of handling 900-hp. With that output, the F150 will easily accelerate from 0-to-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and rocket past 100 in 8 seconds before exceeding a top speed of more than 230 mph. Testing suggests the Ferrari F150 is more than capable of completing a lap of the Nordschleife in less than seven minutes.

The Ferrari F150 supercar will use a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque shell that is so effective that the Italian carmaker expects the component to help reduce the vehicle's CO2 emissions by as much as 40 percent.

A car that pushes the bounderies of fringe science, Ferrari says only 499 F150 supercars will be produced. Each car will be specially tailored to the buyer with seats in a fixed position and an adjustable pedal box and telescopic steering wheel that extends to the driver so as to not disturb the weight distribution of the car.

Ferrari has yet to announce the price of the new supercar but sources claim the F150 will set a buyer back no less than $1.3 million.

Stay tuned as we learn more in the coming weeks ahead. the 2013 Geneva Motor Show will begin on the first full week of March.
