The FBI is out to nab a serial robber who has been accused of a string of arm robberies of gas stations. And, if you partake in the process and help the cops get successful at their search, a bounty of $10,000 awaits.
A poster was recently released, which broke down details of “Scream Bandit” –the wanted man in question— who has been on the prowl for the past one year. The poster divulged that the miscreant has been carrying out crimes in Virginia I under the guise of a masked character from the popular’96 horror flick, “Scream”. Basing assumptions on eye-witnesses, the miscreant is most likely to be a black male, above 5 feet seven inches tall, with a healthy built of 160-180 pounds.
Incidentally, all of his crimes seemed to have occurred at the start of the year—three of the robberies were conducted in January and February of 2019, while a string of similar heists was carried out in the last month of 2020. All of the crimes seemed to have occurred in n Richmond or nearby Henrico County and North Chesterfield.
The poster, which divulged important details of the imposter, revealed that the suspect almost always wore the same attire. “In all the robberies, the suspect wore all black clothing, black or blue gloves, and a 'scream' mask’,” as stated on the poster. It has been reported that the man in question has always followed a similar pattern— the suspect turned up at venues armed with a semi-automatic handgun, only to extort cash from the clerk by handing out a bag to him.
In keeping with the last reported robbery, which took place on January 26, the suspect is said to have used physical force to get his way: he allegedly pushed a clerk before making way behind the counter, flipping the register and carting extra money.
The FBI, who’s on a serious lookout, has warned residents to be wary while they get on with their search, as the “Scream Bandit” seems to be a notorious individual who’s armed at all times. Officials have also advised residents to take precautionary measures while they’re in pursuit of the suspect.
