Vin Diesel has spoken out in one of his first interviews since "Fast and Furious 7" wrapped up in July. In the interview, the franchise star talks about the movie, the challenges that the production encountered during filming, and of course, the loss of Paul Walker.

"Now, 'The Fast and The Furious 7' comes out in April, and it must have been tough for you to shoot without your co-star Paul Walker," began host Michael Strahan on the show Live with Kelly and Michael.

"It's a heavy thing, Michael, you know? I grew up in the bouncing world and we've lost people while we were bouncing. But, the brotherhood with Paul Walker was something completely different," explained Vin Diesel. "It was someone that... we grew up in the business together, we became famous together, and we represented the biggest franchise together."

"He was my partner and... I've been acting all my life," Diesel continued. "They don't teach you in acting to mount someone and simultaneously pretend they're in a scene with you. It's one of the darker moments in my journey."

Combined with the loss of a co-star and close friend, Vin Diesel's tenure as an action star in the "Fast and Furious" franchise has made him very aware of the dangers in acting in very physical roles.

"A lot of people don't realise when you do these action movies you put your life on the line more than you should...When you're doing these action films and you're... for lack of a better description, a method-like thespian, and when you go into these action sequences, you put yourself in harm's way in kind of an unfair fashion," Diesel said.

In fact, Vin Diesel described a day when he overheard the grips, or the stunt team that holds on to the actor's tethers, describe a stunt as an 8-to-1, as in there is an 8-to-1 chance that someone terrible could go wrong during the stunt. Obviously this would freak out most actors. In response, the stunt team commented: "That's nothing. Just on Monday, you were doing a 4-to-1 stunt."

While Vin Diesel did not confirm that he would cease acting in action movies outright, the generally somber mood will definitely cause the "Fast and Furious" star to reflect on his priorities. Stay tuned as we hear more in the months ahead.
