The highly anticipated "Fast and Furious 7" release date is April 10, 2015. Amid the tragic loss of star Paul Walker from a car accident last year, director James Wan and the cast are currently filming the seventh installment in the Fast Furious franchise as we speak.
Lucas Black from Tokyo Drift returns to join the core crew including Vin Diesel, Dwane "The Rock" Johnson, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, and Michelle Rodriguez. New faces include Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Tony Jaa, Romeo Santos, and more.
According to CinemaBlaze, Universal Pictures announced earlier this month that "Fast and Furious 7" will be available at IMAX theaters. While "Fast and Furious 7" plot details are unknown, we can be sure that the upcoming FF7 will be more action packed than ever before. However, the IMAX announcement may also be a ploy to bait moviegoers to spend a little extra to boost sales. According to Enstarz, Fast 7 is already under considerable financial pressure given the production delays, the necessary rewrites in response to Paul Walker's death, as well as the extra CGI facial-replacement technology necessary to complete Paul Walker's storyline in the movie.
However, the loss of Paul Walker may not be the only production delay that "Fast and Furious 7" may face. According to a source involved with the movie, Vin Diesel has been difficult to to work with ever since Paul Walker's death. In fact, sources told WeGotThisCovered that Vin has been so uncooperative on the set that some even considered using the facial-replacement technology to sub in for Vin Diesel as well.
"Vin spent a whole day in his trailer one day," one source revealed. "The next day, they waited four hours for him. He called a meeting [last month] of studio execs to his trailer for two-and-a-half hours to say, 'What the f- am I doing here?'" The next day, work was done with doubles, the source claimed.
Paul Walker and Vin Diesel built this incredible movie franchise together more than a decade ago, so it is certainly understandable why the last movie is so difficult for the actor. That said, Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley denied the source's claim and insisted that Vin Diesel has been perfect during production.
"This production is working through some challenges that are historically unprecedented," Langley said. "The crew and cast, led by Vin, have been nothing but terrific under these circumstances."
As far as we can tell, Vin Diesel will not disappoint fans by quitting on the franchise. Recently, the official Vin Diesel Facebook fanpage released a new photo of Vin sitting in the latest Dom Toretto hero car while on the set of "Fast and Furious 7." Even though the image only distinguishes the greenhouse and a part of the quarter panel, the new Fast 7 hero car looks to be an early model Plymouth Barracuda!
Stay tuned as we learn more about "Fast and Furious 7" in the months ahead!
