Actor Morgan Stevens was found dead inside his home on Wednesday, Jan. 26, after a neighbor called for a wellness check, authorities said.

The 70-year-old "Fame" star had not been seen or heard from for a few days, which raised certain suspicions.

He was found unresponsive in his kitchen and pronounced dead on the scene, police sources revealed.

Investigators believe there were no signs of foul play and that he most likely died of natural causes, TMZ reported. The exact cause of death is yet to be revealed.

He was born Calvin Morgan Stevens on Oct. 16, 1951, in Knoxville, Tennessee.

In the initial days of his acting career, Stevens appeared in various Broadway plays before bagging his first television role in 1979 when he was cast in the revival of Peyton’s Place.

Stevens became popular after he played teacher David Reardon in the television series "Fame", he appeared in two seasons from 1982 to 1984.

He appeared as Jack Gardner in the NBC dramatic series "A Year in the Life" from 1986 to 1988, and then went on play the role of Nick Diamond in seven episodes of the prime-time television soap opera "Melrose Place" in 1995.

He made guest appearances on a variety of shows, including "Murder, She Wrote", "One Day at a Time", and "Murder One".

Stevens’ career derailed after he had a minor car accident and was arrested by the Los Angeles police on suspicion of DUI. The actor had claimed he became a victim of alleged police brutality.

He said two LAPD jailers kicked and beat him over two dozen times. The actor reportedly left jail with a broken nose, fractured cheek, dislocated jaw, and nerve damage to his face.

A blood alcohol test cleared him of the DUI charge, he later sued LAPD and an out-of-court settlement was reached.

His last television appearance was back in 1999 as Principal Max Hanson in an episode of the action crime series "Walker, Texas Ranger".
