Rep. Troy Carter confirmed that law enforcement is investigating more than one suspect in Wednesday's terrorist attack on Bourbon Street.
During a press conference, the FBI revealed that Shamsud-Din Jabbar may not have acted alone. Officials were reticent to offer further details when pressed by reporters.
However, shortly after the conference ended, Rep. Carter (D-LA) offered confirmation that Jabber "did not act alone."
"We have evidence that there is more than one," Carter told CNN.
A Louisiana State Police bulletin obtained by The Associated Press and shared with law enforcement offered further detail.
According to the document, surveillance footage shows a woman and three men placing one of multiple improvised explosive devices discovered in the French Quarter.
Investigations are ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
The Sugar Bowl football game between Notre Dame and Georgia, originally scheduled to take place Wednesday at the New Orleans Caesars Superdome, has been postponed one day in light of the early morning Bourbon Street attack.
Despite the potential that suspects remain at large, city officials, including Rep. Troy Carter, assured residents and visitors of New Orleans that public safety was not at risk.
