Check out or 5 reasons to not miss this year's Emmy Awards:

5. Saying Goodbye To Our Shows: This is the last time that "30 Rock" will be nominated for an award and we will be able to say goodbye to our beloved Tina Fey and the cast that shows up. Another cult hit was HBO's "Enlightened" and Laura Dern is up Lead Actress award and it will be a shock if she even ends up winning. That will be too much to ask for, but her being nominated and attending the ceremony is winning enough for us. It is a big night for "Breaking Bad" as everything leads up to its grand final, the shows actors like Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn and Aaron Paul are clear favorites and might sweep up the show.

4. Cory Monteith Tribute: The gone-too-soon "Glee" star will receive an emotional tribute, with co-star Jane Lynch set to preside. In the always heart-touching "In Memoriam" piece we will remember all the television stars that are shining brighter than ever like James Gandolfini, Jean Stapleton, Gary David Goldberg and Jonathan Winters, among others.

3. Elton John Performance: This will be Elton's first performance at the Emmy awards and it will probably be marvelous. The singer will be paying tribute to Liberace. "We have a performance by Elton John who has never performed at the Emmys before. He's doing a number from his new album, which is amazing," the show's host revealed. The made for television movie, "Behind The Candelabra" that stars Matt Damon and Michael Douglas is about Liberace and was nominated for 15 Emmys this year.

2. Carrie Underwood Performance: The "American Idol" was made a star in television and she will be bringing her incredible voice to celebrate the importance of television in the history of America. The Television Academy will recognize important events like the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the first appearance of The Beatles on U.S. television.

1. The Award Show Itself: We love to watch our television stars winning awards. We root for our favorute and want them to win and are upset when the Emmy voters always pick the same winners year after year. The award show is a fun time to gather with friends and family and bring everyone together to talk and debate what is happening on the small screen. It is a frivolous night and a event, but once in a while we should forget about the real problems and just enjoy the company.
