Cristiano Ronaldo's close friend Edu Aguirre hinted at the Portuguese footballer's transfer to Chelsea as Paris Saint-Germain confirmed having no interest in signing him.

PSG is said to be in the works of rebuilding the team under new manager Christophe Galtier. The team believed that Ronaldo was not a great fit for these changes. According to sources, the club also does not have enough space in their wage bill to pay him.

PSG are not the first team to turn down signing Ronaldo this summer. Bayern Munich also declined the chance to take on the former Real Madrid and Juventus star. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner confirmed his plans to leave Old Trafford due to his hopes of playing in the Champions League. Several teams have been reported to be eager to sign the footballer.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo's friend Aguirre started following Chelsea on Instagram, which led to another speculation regarding the striker's move. One fan wrote on Instagram, "Thanks for confirming that CR7 is going to Chelsea with your follow."

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is reportedly interested in the 37-year-old forward. Boehly has previously met Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes to discuss his future plan. However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel may not be interested in signing Ronaldo.

Chelsea still has no new signing confirmed. Still, some progress has been made as both Kalidou Koulibaly and Nathan Ake moved closer to becoming part of the team. While Raheem Sterling reportedly is on a flight to America to join up with the squad in Los Angeles as Chelsea fans wait for an official announcement.

Ronaldo did not travel to Thailand with the team for Manchester United's pre-season tour; he has been given time off due to "family issues." He will also not participate in United's Australia tour.

Still, United's new manager Erik ten Hag insisted the team wants Ronaldo to remain at Old Trafford. On Monday in a press conference, he said, "We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that's it," Ten Hag said. "I'm looking forward to working with him. I have read [that he wants to leave], but what I say is Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want success together." The Red Devils won against Liverpool 4-0 in Bangkok on Tuesday.
