Dana White recognizes, as the first UFC Event to take place in New York City this November 12th, that he has to pack all the talent he can for this one. He started at the top with two current UFC Titleholders to duke it out for the UFC Lightweight championship, only the second time ever two UFC champions fought each other as champions in their respective divisions.
Eddie Alvarez, the UFC Lightweight champ will now get UFC Featherweight king Conor McGregor after two fight cancellations with two other fighters. This will automatically make today's 6pm press conference, at The Theatre in Madison Square Garden, a must see.
McGregor, who dropped Jose Aldo for his strap, made news in an unsuccessful foray into the higher weights in his loss to Nate Diaz. But his equally impressive decision rematch win over Diaz sets him up as the man to beat once more.
Alvarez, (28-4) the only man to hold titles in UFC and Bellator MMA, won his crown this past July when he knocked it off Rafael Dos Anjos in a single round.
Now these two will be the feature attraction as Alvarez, the Puerto Rican -American Philly based master of five martial arts tackles Irishman Conor McGregor, who will bring his numerous fanbase to the Garden festivities. It will be a fight not to miss.
