Eiza Gonzalez stopped by the "On Air With Ryan Seacrest" studio this morning to talk about her brand new series "From Dusk Till Dawn." The 24-year-old took on the iconic role of Santanico Pandemonium in the Robert Rodriguez television adaptation and had to dance around snakes that freaked out the actress. "I have a little snake in my stomach now, but we've become friends and we have no issues," Eiza joked with Seacreast. "It was really hard [working with snakes] and it was my first scene when I got to Austin. There were 20 snakes in the pit, the one that goes in my mouth is CGI but all the other ones were in there. The guy who was taking care of them said, 'oh, it's all good just don't touch the rattlesnake because that one might bite.' How am I going to know if they all look like normal snakes to me."
Eiza works with the reptiles throughout the first season and looks like she will continue to work with them as a second season has been announced. Just two weeks after its premiere, El Rey Network, has picked up the series for a 13-episode sophomore season. “As the television landscape becomes even more crowded, it’s important for El Rey Network to have a recurring and memorable franchise that speaks to our audience and allows us to break away from the noise of all the competition,” El Rey Network vice chair Scott Sassa said in a statement. “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is most certainly that kind of property and we are thrilled with the response from our affiliate partners, advertisers, viewers and the international community.” The series main setting is along the Mexico-US border where bank robber Seth Gecko (D.J. Cotrona) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard ‘Richie” Gecko (Zane Holtz) shoot their way south after a bank heist in Abilene, Texas. The 10-episode first series takes place over the course of one night, following the brothers as they try to evade a pair of Texas rangers, Earl McGraw (Don Johnson) and Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia).
Eiza Gonzalez moved to Los Angeles after starring in the hit telenovela "Amores Verdaderos" to try out her luck in Hollywood. "I decided I wanted something else. I felt something was missing," she said. "Eventually I packed my bags and moved to the States … not knowing leaving my comfort zone in Mexico and leaving everything I really had … but I started knocking on doors and trying to do auditions, and here I am." She also revealed in her interview with Ryan Seacrest that she will soon start production of her first starring film titled "All Hail The Squash Blossom Queen." For this role she will make a move to Atlanta, Georgia and will co-star with Bonnie Wright and Cameron Monaghan. Watch Eiza's interview with the "American Idol" host down below!
