An avid Taylor Swift fan, who had a lot of drinks for fun, has been arrested for drunk driving, which saw him ram his car into the pop star's swanky New York City address early Thursday.
According to the New York Police Department, the suspect faces charges of driving while intoxicated and criminal mischief after allegedly driving the wrong way down the singer’s street. Reversing, he then struck the building and a fire hydrant, TMZ reported.
He would proceed to get out of the vehicle to approach her front door, ultimately attempting to rip the intercom out, mumbling about Taylor, as he demanded to see the “Lover” songstress.
A witness would dial 911, resulting in the cops turning up and arresting the man, who at the time refused to leave until he met his idol. Police noted that the intercom wires were sticking out every which way when they arrived but it is unclear if Swift was home at the time of the incident.
The man has since been taken into custody after he was sent to a nearby hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
It seems like Swift's properties are a magnet for strange incidents after crazed fans barged into her homes in Manhattan, Rhode Island, and Beverly Hills, desperately trying to meet her.
Last summer, Taylor dealt with 28-year-old Patrick Nissen, of Nebraska, who tried to force his entry into her apartment building, claiming “I love her,” according to the Daily Beast.
In that incident, he was hit with second-degree criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor, after he was busted in the vestibule of the “Invisible Strings” singer’s Tribeca apartment building. He reportedly entered through an unlocked door when Taylor was not home, arriving at the address via a commuter bus service.
A security officer in the building raised the alarm and called the cops after spotting Nissen’s unwanted presence in the complex and called 911. Following his arrest, he confessed to the police he was in love with Taylor. Further investigations found that the suspect had posted several snaps of Swift on his Instagram page.
