A man in Indiana allegedly swallowed a stash of drugs to hide them from police during a traffic stop, later claiming he was in "The Matrix" as officers arrested him.

On the evening of Nov. 20, police stopped Anthony Bell, 45, in Evansville, Indiana as he was driving, 14 News Now reported.

Officers reportedly immediately noticed his confusion, dilated pupils and difficulty locating his ID. A search revealed small plastic bags, over $1,000 in cash, synthetic marijuana and containers of mushroom oil in Bell's car.

After being taken into custody, Bell appeared increasingly disoriented, reportedly groaning and vomiting in the patrol car before reportedly claiming they were "in The Matrix."

Dashcam footage later revealed that he swallowed something during his arrest, which was reportedly confirmed by a hospital test detecting amphetamines and THC in his system.

Bell is currently facing several charges, including dealing controlled substances, driving under the influence and obstruction of justice.
