“How do you feel knowing that you have turned the entire presidential election process into a joke?” Em Harriss asked Donald Trump during #AskTrump Q&A session on Twitter last month. The GOP candidate has managed to mold his presidential campaign around what he knows best, entertaining.
Mr. Trump has previously stated that a lot of his remarks come from the “showman” in him, “many of those comments are made as an entertainer because I did ‘The Aprentice,’ he told CNN during an interview after he criticized fellow Republican candidate, Carly Fiorina.
If you haven’t gotten Trump’s modus operandi by now, here’s a brief explanation: you criticize my political views, I criticize something about you ‘persona,’ because that is the presidential thing to do, right? Imagine what he would do at a UN gathering!
While speaking in South Carolina last week, Trump said: “I’ve never seen a young guy [Marco Rubio] sweat that much. He’s drinking water, water, water. I never saw anything like this with him with the water.” On MSNBC the next morning, he said, “I’ve never seen a guy down water like he downs water. They bring it in in buckets for this guy.”
On Monday, Trump’s campaign team sent Rubio a prank care package containing a 24-bottle case of “Trump Ice Natural Spring Water,” yes, this is a real thing, and two “Make America Great Again” towels and bumper stickers with a note that read: “Since you’re always sweating, we thought you could use some water. Enjoy!”
CNN asked Trump about the prank on Tuesday morning and informed the candidate that Rubio’s office had responded with: “Yeah, he can send us all the water he wants, who was tired in that debate? 37 minutes Donald Trump wasn’t just outplayed in terms of substance, he was tired. He is 69, he is old, he is not in shape for this.”
What did “The Donald” have to say to that? Watch the video below to find out.
