Donald Trump may have lost the 2020 presidential election in the United States, but he is a financial winner. He is now dramatically regaining his money after suffering a massive loss while still president.
During his time in the White House and following the Capitol Hill riots, Donald Trump has lost more than a billion dollars in his net worth. But, thanks to his new social media site, he's back in the game and back among the billionaires.
So, how much is he currently worth?
Nobody can doubt that the former U.S. President is exceptionally wealthy. According to CNN, he had a net worth of $4.5 billion before entering the 2016 US elections.
When he took office, however, that number began to fall. In fact, by 2020, it had dropped to $2.1 billion.
His fortune climbed to $2.4 billion in 2021, a year after leaving the White House.
Forbes noted that the increase was sparked by the debut of his social media startup, Truth Social, which aims to compete with Twitter. In fact, it has already added $430 million to his net worth.
Donald Trump is known for being a good businessman in addition to being a politician and a TV personality. After striking a deal with Hyatt and the Commodore Hotel, he was one of the most well-known real estate developers in New York in the 1980s.
He was allowed to refurbish and rebrand the hotel as Grand Hyatt at the time, and it was a big success.
He finished the 68-story Trump Tower in 1984, which still serves as the Trump Organization's headquarters today.
In addition, the 45th president of the United States owns a lot of wealthy enterprises and assets. One of these is Trump Place, a 92-acre premium residential development.
The Trump International Hotel & Tower, which comprises a hotel, residences, restaurants, and stores, is also part of the complex. He's also credited for the success of Central Park's Wollman Rink.
Following the Capitol Hills incident, Mayor Bill de Blasio said in January 2020 that three contracts with the Trump Organization would be terminated. According to Yahoo! News, this means it will close the carousel in Central Park in Manhattan and skating rinks, and a golf course in the Bronx.
Despite this, Donald Trump remains wealthy, with a net worth of $3 billion.
