Former President Donald Trump left the White House 18 months ago and only returned to Washington on Tuesday. He delivered a fiery speech in which he hinted that he might run for President again in 2024 and repeated false election claims.
During the speech, the 76-year-old stopped short of declaring his candidacy. But he laid out what he believed should be the priorities for the "next Republican President," reported NDTV. Trump shared, "I always say I ran the first time and I won, then I ran a second time and I did much better." He noted that they might "just have to do it again. We have to straighten out our country."
Trump, who is accused of a coup attempt in which cops were attacked, returned to Washington with a plea for law and order to give police “the respect that they deserve," according to The Guardian. He spoke at a luxury hotel less than two miles from the U.S. Capitol where on Jan. 6, 2021 his supporters had attacked law enforcement in an attempt to overturn the 2020 Presidential election result.
As Trump gave a 90-minute address to a summit hosted by the America First Policy Institute, there were chants of “four more years!” He said that there is no higher priority than cleaning up America's streets, controlling their border, "stopping the drugs from pouring in, and quickly restoring law and order in America."
According to him, there is "no longer respect for the law and there certainly is no order." He said that the U.S. is now a "cesspool of crime." He feels that they have blood, death and suffering on a scale once "unthinkable because of the Democrat party’s effort to destroy and dismantle law enforcement all throughout America. It has to stop now.”
The former President called for homeless to be put in camps, and said that executing drug dealers would save many lives, reported Daily Mail. He also spoke about the street gang MS-13, which is mostly known to be made up of El Salvadorian migrants. He accused President Joe Biden of having "suspended" immigration policies and fueled more gang-related crimes in America. Gang members allegedly kidnapped two girls, he said. They allegedly "cut off their skins" to kill them, he added.
