Nestle is recalling a number of varieties of DiGiorno and California Pizza Kitchen brand frozen pizzas. California Pizza Kitchen Crispy Thin Crust White, California Pizza Kitchen Limited Edition Grilled Chicken With Cabernet Sauce, as well as the DiGiorno brands Tuscan Style and Bianca pizzas.
DiGiorno and CPK customers reported to Nestle, the parent company of DiGiorno and CPK's frozen pizza brands, that they had found fragments of plastic in their pizzas. Retailers are already removing the products from store shelves. Nestle said that a problem with a spinach shipment may or may not be the culprit in the pizza recall.
Customers who have purchased the affected products or believe to be victims of the accidental plastic additives may call Nestle at 1-800-456-4394 or contact the company at nestlepizza[at]casupport[dot]com. The affected recalled pizzas were reportedly manufactured in February and March 2013.
