Despierta América, one of the most beloved morning shows on Hispanic television, is mourning the loss of one of its most cherished members. The news, which was announced by the show's hosts today, Monday, September 2, has left viewers and the entire Despierta TelevisaUnivision family in shock and sadness.

Raúl González, a prominent figure on the show, led the emotional tribute to Tony Díaz, a cameraman who had become an integral part of "La Casita Más Alegre de la Televisión Hispana."

"Today, we have to say goodbye, with heartfelt gratitude, to one of our own, our cameraman of many years, Antonio Alberto Díaz, Tony Díaz, as we affectionately called him. He was a very important part of the "Despierta América" team and the entire Univision network," said Raúl González, who was the spokesperson for this difficult news.

"We send a hug to his family. Rest in peace, Mr. TV, as we affectionately called him, and in this way, we honor you with a standing ovation," continued Raúl González in his farewell message which also extended his condolences to the family. The cause of death wasn't revealed.

With his heartfelt words, González captured the sentiments of the entire team, who remembered Díaz not only for his professionalism but also for the warmth and joy he brought to everyone around him. Díaz's contributions to the show went far beyond his work behind the camera; he was a friend, a mentor, and a beloved colleague to many.

Other hosts like Karla Martínez, Alan Tacher, Francisca Lachapel, and Chef Yisus, paid a moving tribute to their late colleague on air with an standing ovation.
