Things are heating up on the dance floor over at Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars.
Two couples will be eliminated from tonight's all-stars lineup and with that in mind, the couples dances for their life.
The dancing couples had to creatively control their performances and performed iconic dances from past seasons.
Actress Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy's rendition of Laila Ali's paso doble from Season 4 earned them 9s from all three judges for a total score of 27.
Reality star Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani danced J.R. Martinez's samba from Season 13. Their complexed choreography earned them a total of 27 - tying with Monaco and Chmerkovskiy for the top of the board.
But the stand out of last night's show was Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough who took on Helio Castroneves' quickstep from Season 5 and their efforts were praised.
"Incredible, spectacular, unforgettable," Judge Bruno Tonioli said. Tonioli said it one of the best dances he's seen in 15 seasons.
"That was by far the best dance we have ever seen on 'Dancing With the Stars,'" Carrie Ann Inaba said. Len Goodman dropped a point because they dropped hold.
Johnson and Hough's quickstep earned them a total of 26.5 points.
For the third week, Kristie Alley and Bristol Palin come into the results show at the bottom of the pack.
Alley and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy attempted Carson Kressley's cha cha and impressed the judges.
"That was the most fun I've had all night," Inaba said.
Alley and Chmerkovskiy got three 8s for a total of 24 points.
After a "major blow-up" with partner Mark Ballas, Palin aggressively danced Joanna Krupa's paso doble from Season 9.
Goodman thinks this was Bristol's best dance yet.
"I know when you came into this competition, people kind of put you at the bottom of the pack, but I think you're proving yourself a worthy competitor," Inaba said.
Their efforts them earned them a total of 22.5 points.
Dancing with the Stars: All-stars airs tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC.
