Seth MacFarlane is known for his deliberate and sometimes brash sense of humor and while many find the actor/singer/director to be amazingly skilled, others find the 39-year-old to be a little over the top with his selection of comedy. With the tremendous success of hit animated sitcoms 'Family Guy,' and 'American Dad' along with the uber-popular movie 'Ted' continuing to entertain millions of viewers, MacFarlane and his friends in the entertainment industry decided to launch another sitcom they hope will find a high level of success on the FOX Network as well.
Teaming up with co-creators Alec Sulkin ('Family Guy,' 'Ted') and Wellesley Wild ('Family Guy,' 'Ted'), MacFarlane will now watch as the brand new FOX comedy 'Dads' premiers prior to the launch of 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' another comedy set to debut on the FOX Network. Led by Emmy Award winner Seth Green and Emmy Award nominee Giovanni Ribisi, 'Dads' hopes to continue the success many FOX comedies have enjoyed under the guidance and direction of MacFarlane. Additional cast members including Martin Mull ('Two and a Half Men') and Peter Riegert ('The Good Wife,' 'The Sopranos') will certainly add to the legitimacy of the show since each member has a long resume and the ability to be consistently humorous.
When and Where to Watch Series Premier of 'Dads'
'Dads' will premiere on Tuesday, September 17 at 8:00pm, ET. Broadcast through the FOX Television Network, viewers will also be able to watch the debut by visiting FOX On Demand and FOX.com.
ABOUT 'DADS'
Eli (Seth Green) and Warner (Giovanni Ribisi) are lifelong best friends who developed a successful video game company while they were stoned in college. Though successful, Eli has remained a stoner while Warner has gone on to marry and have 2 children. The relationship between the buddies sometimes borders on romance since they are inseparable but through thick and thin, the duo remain the closest of friends as they run a continuously successful company called Ghost Child Games.
When Warner's father Crawford (Martin Mull) moves in and tries his luck at the latest get-rich-quick schemes, Warner's wife Camila (Vanessa Lachey) ultimately implores her husband to confront his father about his way of life. Unable to do so, a string of hilarity ensues, creating a truly humorous portrayal of the father/son relationship.
Eli endures the same situation when his father David (Peter Riegert) falls on hard luck and moves in with his son. Finding that his love life has taken a serious turn for the worse with his dad now around 24/7, Seth Green's character must learn to balance more than just work and romance.
