Don't believe everything you read on the Internet, says reggaeton singer Daddy Yankee.

Over the last few weeks, rumors have spread on social media about the "Gasolina" artist declaring his homosexuality in definitive way -- but the consistency stops there. Some say he came out at a press conference, others state that he was spotted in a gay club. A blurry photo even circulated in which the singer allegedly kissed another man.

Faced with all the comments and hearsay, the Boricua artist addressed her fans via Twitter.

"Once again, ignorance has come to play. The internet is where lies become truths and the truth becomes myth."

He added that he is "100 percent straight."

His adamant denial should not be taken as criticism against gay lifestyle, though. Earlier this year, Daddy spoke up about acceptance and tolerance.

"I have people in my team who are gay and I respect them," he said.

The singer has also been making headlines about his recent operation, which was needed after an attack in which he was shot in the knees. The operation was successful and he is recovering well.

"After being shot I thought I would never use them again, but here I am, about to make the next step," he tweeted, adding a photo of himself with crutches.
