Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly "disillusioned" with Ralf Rangnick's managing style as the Red Devil's star held crisis talks with agent Jorge Mendes about his future plans at Old Trafford.
The interim boss, Rangnick, was appointed to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Manchester United had a disappointing defeat to the Wolves with a 1-0 victory. The head coach tried to implement his high pressing philosophy with a 4-2-2-2 formation, which includes inverted wingers; however, issues arose within the team.
The Portuguese footballer is said to be frustrated by how Man Utd is performing. He is also reported to be disillusioned with the interim manager's tactics and style of football. Ronaldo displayed an impressive individual campaign, scoring 14 of his side's 29 goals across all competitions.
Mendes flew into the United Kingdom to address Ronaldo's fear of being in danger with the club. Ronaldo had crisis talks with his agent to plan how to manage the situation. A source close to Ronaldo revealed, "Cristiano is very concerned about what is happening at United. The team is receiving a lot of criticism and he knows he is regarded as one of the leaders. There are quite a lot of problems and Cristiano is feeling the pressure and is very stressed by the situation."
"He desperately wants his United move to be a success, but he is starting to recognise that winning trophies with the current set up could be a real struggle. Jorge came to see him and they spent time chatting through how things are going, what they think are the problems, how they might be solved and what the solutions may be. Nothing has been ruled out."
Ronaldo is said to be under a lot of pressure, and also worried about his future with Man Utd. However, it is not only Ronaldo who feels unsettled at Old Trafford. There are 11 players who have reportedly made it clear they want to exit the club in the coming months. There are claims that six players are looking for a move away from Man Utd.
Thirteen out of the 17 individuals have been named, including Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Donny van de Beek, Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Nemanja Matic, Fred, Diogo Dalot and Axel Tuanzebe. Tuanzebe was the first to exit, sealing a move to Napoli.
