Manchester United's legendary striker Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his love for his twin babies Eva Maria and Mateo in a birthday post on Instagram Sunday.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner and his long-time partner Georgina Rodríguez welcomed twin babies, daughter Eva Maria and son Mateo in 2017 through a surrogate mother in the United States.
The Portuguese forward shared a lovely photo of the twins, wearing a matching black and yellow outfits to celebrate their fifth birthday. The two adorable kids were all smiling while posing straight at the camera.
The 37-year-old star footballer captioned the picture with a heartfelt birthday wish for the twins. "Happy birthday my loves Daddy couldn't be more proud of you, keep being happy and with those beautiful smiles I love you so much." The post earned thousands of likes a few minutes after Ronaldo posted it. A lot of other star footballers and supporters also commented on his post.
Real Madrid's left-back and captain, Marcelo Vieira, also responded with a heart-filled emoticon, while others wished the twins a delighted birthday.
Ronaldo and Georgina welcomed their daughter Bella Esmeralda on April 18. They were left devastated and heartbroken as they lost their newborn son, Bella's twin brother. That day, the soccer star and the model entrepreneur confirmed in a joint statement, "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness."
They continued, "We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you."
The former sales assistant and Ronaldo have been together since 2017 and share a daughter Alana Martina, 4. The soccer star is also a father to son Cristiano Jr., 11, and 4-year-old twins, Eva and Mateo and now to Bella.
