Real Madrid have defeated Copenhagen 2-0 in Denmark. Cristiano Ronaldo's goal in the 48th minute not only confirmed the victory but also set a new record: Ronaldo has become the first player to score nine goals in the group phase of the Champion's League. This is the first loss for Copenhagen who had been undefeated in eight matches - an impressive feat considering the faced Barcelona, Juventus and Man U. Meanwhile Ronaldo has again proven why he is deserving of a Ballon d'Or nomination.
Real Madrid played an impressive match with over 60 percent possession and 15 shots at goal. Modric scored after 25 minutes, his first goal of the season. Following the goal, Real Madrid really took control of the match, and the Danish team was never quite able to recover. Isco, Benzema and Ronaldo worked their magic up front, putting heavy pressure on Copenhagen's defense which led to Ronaldo's goal following a header from Bale. Real had three other close calls from Benzema, Ronaldo and Bale, however the final score remained 2-0.
Cristiano Ronaldo had missed the last three games due to suspension and injury, however, he was clearly back in fine form. Copenhagen's goalkeeper Wiland had a tough game but managed a couple of great saves, including one from Ronaldo's penalty.
