Lamborghini Miura S
Lamborghini Miura S Classic Car Club - Manhattan

The Classic Car Club of Manhattan posted a striking photo on Facebook of a candy orange Lamborghini Miura S rolling off a transport truck in downtown New York City on Monday afternoon -- "Say hello to our newest fleet addition: 1969 Lamborghini Miura S!"

An epic post that garnered hundreds of likes, shares, and comments, Classic Car Club finally brought the buzz to an end Tuesday evening: "APRIL FOOLS!!"

Or is it? The Miura is not to be trifled with and should be taken seriously at all times..

On Tuesday afternoon, I decided to visit CCC to see what's what.

In a room full of Aston Martins, Porsches, and BMWs, the wild tangerine 1969 Lamborghini Miura S was prominently placed at the center of Classic Car Club's vehicle station. The original mid-engine V12 Italian exotic, the Lamborghini Miura is, in a word, alluring.

Developed by Lamborghini's three top engineers, Gian Paolo Dallara, Paolo Stanzani, and Bob Wallace, the Miura was a daring technological tour-de-force. Featuring a transversely-mounted V12 tightly packaged with a 5-speed manual gearbox and differential behind the driver, the Miura boasts 360 hp and 286 lb.-ft. of torque. Even as a static sculpture, the hand-formed curves crafted by designer Marcello Gandini utterly seduces any man that crosses its path.

A man once quoted, "The world's most beautiful cars almost always look like a naked woman lying on her stomach about to get up." While the origin of the quote is lost, it's hard to believe that the quote projects anything but the flawless curves of a Lamborghini Miura.

Eventually, I spoke with the staff at CCC to learn more about the Miura as well as the ambiguity of their Facebook post. According to CCC, the vehicle was shipped from Ohio and will not be, nor ever will be, an addition to the CCC fleet -- it's simply too outrageously expensive to insure.

In fact, the orange Lamborghini Miura S will star in a future webisode of comedian Jerry Seinfeld's fun "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee." So what was the Miura doing at the CCC facilities? Jerry Seinfeld simply asked the club to lend its facilities to keep the classic from the elements for a few nights. Naturally, CCC obliged.

According to CCC, the Lamborghini Miura S does not belong to Jerry Seinfeld either. What's more, it isn't confirmed which comedic guest will accompany Seinfeld for the very special episode. However, if we had to guess, fellow funny car guys including Jay Leno and Lambo-phile Adam Carolla rank high on the list.

Stay tuned as we learn more about the upcoming Season 2 of Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee" in the months ahead. Be sure to see all the amazing pictures of the breathtaking orange 1969 Lamborghini Miura S in the gallery below:
