Senator Ted Cruz found himself on the receiving end of ridicule after he posted a photo of himself posing with Donald Trump's newly purchased Tesla, calling it "the coolest thing I've ever seen."

Cruz's enthusiasm was thoroughly mocked, with users on X (formerly Twitter) questioning his taste. Many pointed out that Tesla vehicles have been around for years, making Cruz and his excitement seem out of touch.

"You've never seen a Tesla before?" one user commented. "It's been out for like 10 years and hasn't even changed body styles once."

Others took issue with Cruz's eagerness to align with Trump. "Never miss an opportunity to suck up to dear leader," one wrote, with another adding, "All you politicians are so pathetic."

Even conservatives questioned the optics of a Republican senator endorsing Tesla, given the party's traditional support for the oil and gas industry. "How about standing in front of a Ford 350 dually to support our oil and gas workers?" one Texan wrote.
