A Colorado father who reported his four-year-old daughter missing was reunited with her after the Weld County community stepped in to help.
When her dad realized she was missing, he called the local police to report the incident.
According to a Weld County Sheriff X post, when the responding officer was on his way to investigate the call further, he received another call from a local citizen who had located the girl.
"The deputy met with the citizen and the missing girl and was able to reunite her with her family," the post read.
Body camera footage from the officer shows the girl waiting with a few local individuals who helped bring her to safety. The deputy then took the girl back to her father and shared a heartwarming reunion.
According to the same post, the girl "decided to go on an adventure and walk to her grandma's house."
The X post said: "We share this story with you because we rely on the public's support and cooperation during our investigations. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Weld County community. Your attention to the safety of your fellow community members is greatly appreciated."
