The governor of the Mexican state of Colima, Mario Anguiano Moreno, has been caught in what appears to be a drunken rant. The video of the Mexican governor from the PRI was shared on Youtube by the 'Colima 3.0' channel and has since gone pretty wild across Mexican social media. The governor slurs his words and uses Mexican swear words as he addresses students from the state University who were demonstrating against Moreno's and the University's mismanagement.

The incident occurred outside the local cathedral in the capital of Colima city. Aguiano arrived apparently on horseback and was then confronted by employees of the university who took the opportunity to voice their concern over conditions at the university which they referred to as "disgusting." In the video, the Governor can be seen struggling to speak coherently, slurring his words and using phrases like "hijo de la chingada" which translates as "son of a b**ch."

The Social Media director for the state of Colima, René González Chávez, made a statement rejecting claims that the governor was drunk despite his language and slurred speech. "'Hijo de la chingada' is a colloquial expression in Colima, it's like saying 'damn,': it's an expression that only serves to emphasize the governor's affection for his residents as he uses the expression as if he were among friends." He insisted that "he had not drunk absolutely anything, he didn't have alcohol on his breath, which the workers there can confirm."
