Amongst the many new and returning TV shows to look forward to, we mentioned Netflix was releasing its first ever, Spanish language original series “Club de Cuervos.” The 13-episode show is being made Alazraki Entertainment who will film the series in its entirety in various locations in Mexico. The Netflix series, directed by Gaz Alazraki, allegedly centers on a family feud among heirs of a soccer club after the owner’s death. It offers a satirical, highly entertaining look into the world of professional football.
“Nosotros los Nobles” actor, Luis Gerardo Méndez will be the star of the show; “We formed a very special team for ‘Nosotros los Nobles’ and we all knew we wanted to keep working together,” said the director. Other cast members will include Mariana Treviño ("Una Última y Nos Vamos”, “Amor de Mis Amores”), Stephanie Cayo (“La Hipocondríaca”), Daniel Giménez Cacho (“La Zona” “Arráncame la Vida”, “Voces Inocentes”, “La Mala Educación”), Antonio de la Vega (“La Mentira”), Ianis Guerrero (“Nosotros los Nobles”), Jesús Zavala (“Malaventura”), Verónica Terán (“En el Tiempo de las Mariposas”), Emilio Guerrero (“Matando Cabos” “Capadocia” “Bajo la Sal”), Eileen Yáñez (“Capadocia”), Carlos Bardem (“La Zona”), Oscar Olivares (“Capadocia”), Sofía Sisniega (“Gossip Girl: Acapulco”) and Sofía Niño de Rivera (stand up comedian), among others.
“When I told the team that Netflix was interested in producing the show, the excitement was contagious since there’s nobody cooler and more innovative in this day and age than Netflix,” said Alazraki. “Club de Cuervos” is being produced by Leo Zimbron, Mike Lam and Gaz Alazraki, who will also be directing the story created by Mike Lam. The show is set to be released during the course of 2015.
