Christina Aguilera said yes! The singer got engaged to her boyfriend of three years Matthew Rutler. The pair took a much-needed vacation to spend Valentine’s Day in Hawaii, where he popped the question. Aguilera was quick to post the news to her Twitter followers with a lovely picture of her hand holding Matthew’s hand in front of a beautiful beach view with a giant sparkler on her ring finger.

“He asked and I said ……” she captioned the picture, which got over 7,500 retweets and over 15,000 favorites. She was showered with congratulatory messages and well wishes for her and Matthew, but since the couple has always been very private, we barely know anything about Matt. 1. Rutler is originally from New Jersey. He went to Ramapo High School before moving to Rhode Island to go to college. He attended Roger Williams University and after graduating he moved to California to pursue his dreams of entering the entertainment business.

2. Christina and Matthew met on the set of the 2010 movie "Burlesque," in which she starred with Cher. He was a film assistant, while Xtina and first husband Jordan Bratman were going through a painful split. They started dating in November, 2010 a month after Aguilera’s relationship officially ended.

3. Besides “Burlesque,” Matt has worked as a production assistant for many popular movies, including “The Proposal,” “Grown Ups,” “The Social Network” and more.

He spent over a year designing the engagement ring to represent his and Christina’s journey as a couple. “He took two of Christina's favorite rings to design something that incorporated [both designs] into one, similar to both their lives coming together as one,” a source told People.
