Chris Brown may be charged with a hit and run following what seemed to be a standard fender bender last week. If charged, the singer/rapper could land behind bars following a LAPD investigation.
On May 21, the singer and his on again/off again girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, were involved in an accident in Los Angeles. Brown hit a Mercedes with his Range Rover while driving to a recording studio, the couple was seen taking photos of the incident with the other driver. However, no police were called to the scene.
While the accident seemed like a routine collision, TMZ is now reporting that the LAPD are investigating the car crash for Brown allegedly provided false insurance information.TMZ also reported that Brown may be in the center of a hit and run investigation that made the singer initially provide false information to the other driver.
According to Extra, Chris Brown denies any knowledge of a hit and run. Also, sources close to Brown stated that he confirmed that he provided the correct name and insurance information. Brown's lawyer reportedly attempted to contact the other driver involved in the collision, but she allegedly hung up on his lawyer.
The LAPD has yet to be in contact with the singer, however, according to HuffPost, the LAPD does want to talk to Brown.
While Brown has not yet been in touch with the LAPD, if charged Brown could be in direct violation of his 5-year probation, which he received in 2009 after assaulting Rihanna.
