Rapper FBG Cash was reportedly killed in a drive-by shooting in Chicago on Friday.
The 31-year-old rapper, born Tristian Hamilton, died in a fatal shooting in Chicago at around 5:30 a.m. on Friday. FBG Cash was reportedly driving with a female companion asleep in his car. He had several gunshot wounds to his body.
The Chicago Police Department records initially revealed an unnamed 31-year-old male victim and a 29-year-old female were driving near the 1600 block of W. 81 St. in Chicago when a four-door sedan pulled alongside the victim's vehicle. An unidentified person got out and opened fire on the victim's car, which was hit multiple times. The female passenger was also shot in the left arm and upper back. According to reports, the "Back Again 2X's" rapper also opened fire during the shooting using his handgun.
The shooter then reportedly returned to the vehicle and fled the scene immediately. Both victims were rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the male was pronounced dead and the woman was said to be in critical condition.
FBG Cash's latest music video, titled "Intro," just came out on May 26. FBG Cash was part of Chicago's Fly Boy Gang (FBG), also called the Clout Boyz or "tooka gang." Among the members are fellow rappers Lil Jay, Wooski, Billionaire Black, Young Mello, FBG Dutchie and the late FBG Duck, who was killed in 2020, which was said to be a result of a rap beef that led to street gang activity.
FBG Duck was a member of STL/EBT, also known as Tookaville. His brother FBG Brick was also shot in 2017. FBG Duck's cousin and collaborator BCR Meezle was shot and killed in 2021 — a few months after Duck. The gang has been at war with the Black Disciples, who primarily hail from the infamous "O-Block."
Charles "C Murda" Liggins, Kenneth "Kenny" Roberson, Tacarlos "Los" Offerd, Christopher "C Thang" Thomas and Marcus "Muwop" Smart, all were taken into custody in Oct. 2021 for Duck's killing. All alleged assailants face a minimum sentence of life and have the possibilty to receive the death penalty.
