A man in New Jersey has been charged on Tuesday with conspiracy to commit murder after he allegedly attempted to hire a hitman, described to him as “cheap,” in order to kill a 13-year-old girl who was living in Texas.
Armando Conceicao, a 57-year-old man from New Jersey, is being charged with conspiracy to commit murder for hire and other related raps after he attempted to commission a hitman to kill a 13-year-old girl in Texas for $15 or less, according to a DOJ report.
Although Conceicao’s motive for the murder has yet to be revealed by authorities, investigation says that Conceicao communicated with a man on May 2021 in order to kill or help find a person that could kill a teenage girl in Texas, the Daily Beast reported.
The man reportedly did a reconnaissance mission, paid for by Conceicao’s, where the man went to the teenage girl’s house and photographed it and the surrounding areas before returning to New Jersey with more information to aid Conceicao, NJ.com reported.
The two of them met again, with the man armed with a recording device to record the conversation, where he recommended a hitman for Conceicao that could do the killing for “cheap, he’s charging 15 bucks, 10 bucks, problem solved.”
During the conversation, the man asked Conceicao about whether the family of the teenage girl should be killed by the hitman if they are encountered, or if they should be left alone.
“As long as the girl is eliminated the rest does not matter,” he reportedly said. “He [the purported assassin] needs to do something, [he] doesn’t have to kill everyone. He can leave one hurt badly, mutilate another, the dad fucked—you understand or not?”
The conversation was said to have taken place in Portuguese.
Conceicao’s lawyer has yet to comment on the charges that their client is facing. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison as well as a US$250,000 fine.
