Charlie Sheen's impulses doesn't surprise us anymore, but somehow we're fascinated with his recent urge to hop on his private jet and fly to Scotland so he could go searching for the Loch Ness Monster.
According to some reports, the 47-year-old star spent four days hunting for the mythical creature, rumored to live deep below the water in the loch, although other news sources claim Sheen only spent a day, and returned to LA after an unsuccessful boat ride to find "Nessie."
Ex-baseball star Todd Zeile and longtime friend Brian Pekk joined Hollywood's bad boy and settled into the historic Aldourie Castle on the southern shores of Loch Ness. Charlie even tweeted a photo of himself with his friend before beginning their search writing, "Once again MIT grant sanctioned archeologists Pekk & Sheen, rig battle gear for tonight's sortie on the Loch Ness."
TMZ reported that the only weapon the group took with them in case they found the "monster" was a bottle of scotch.
Although Sheen failed to catch a glimpse of the fabled creature during his stay, he did have his picture taken with a wooden sculpture of Nessie. Aside from climbing on top of the monster's statue for a photo op, the actor and his friends were on their best behavior according to Aldourie Castle's manager Lavinia Turner.
"All I can say is that Mr. Sheen and his party were perfect guests and thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Scotland and Loch Ness," she told the Mirror.
"They had a wonderful and relaxing time but unfortunately didn't see any sign of Nessie, although I'm sure they'll be back in the future to try again," she added.
One of the Scottish Highland's best loved pipers, Dougie Watson, played the star on to his jet before he returned to the US.
The 51-year-old former Scots Guard said: "Charlie was a true gent and on great form and he seemed to have had a fantastic trip. I piped him on board with a couple of stirring marches like Scotland The Brave and Flower of Scotland. He had a quick chat and said he'd be back soon. I think he really loved Scotland and the relaxed atmosphere here. It would be great to see him back."
Maybe what's crazy about this story is that Charlie Sheen actually behaved and people genuinely want him to return to Scotland.
