Ce eLo Green made an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and announced he would not be returning to "The Voice" and giving up his red rotating chair for good. "I'm not coming back at all," he states as he surprised everyone including Ellen. He has been a coach on the show in four of the five seasons and it wasn’t planned for him to appear in Season 6 that premieres Monday.
The first three seasons had the same set of coaches, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green. Then Usher and Shakira replaced Green and Christina in Season 4, but then returned for Season 5. Shakira and Usher are back to join Adam and Blake for Season 6. But with the vacancy of Cee Lo, him being the first coach to announce he is not returning for good, it his unsure who will be the group of coaches set for Season 7.
CeeLo is going on tour with Lionel Richie. He was asked what he will be doing besides the tour. He responded "I'm going to continue my relationship with NBC. I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year. But yeah, I'm going to miss 'The Voice,' too. I'm not coming back, guys." He continued by saying "I don't want to wear out my welcome there. I have so many other things I want to do. I haven't released an album in four years. I'm almost done with an album." He joked around about making the announcement on live television by saying, "I didn't mean to drop the bomb today." He also added "But I will say, I'm human and I have other ambitions that I want to see through that will require my undivided attention. And so with that being said, sometimes it becomes questionable."
We will just have to wait and see who will take CeeLo’s place on "The Voice." Fans are definitely going to miss his colorful personality, extravagant costumes and complicated words he uses that no one understands.
