The same day a woman was killed riding Big Texas at Six Flags Over Texas, a malfunction at another popular amusement park injured seven people. The log flume ride Shoot The Rapids in Cedar Point at Sandusky, Ohio accidentally rolled backward and down a hill Friday before it flipped over, hurting all on board, the CS Monitor reported. Park operators immediately shut down the ride when it flipped over down the ride's first hill. Park police, medical technicians, ride operators and visitors waded into the water to help. Michael Orr, a park attendee from Euclid, Ohio said the way the boat capsized trapped some of the passengers.

"We jumped in and helped them get out," he said. "If we didn't help, I don't even know what would have happened."

Six of the passengers were evaluated and released on site. The other was taken to a local hospital and released later that day. Cedar Point officials said the incident has been reported to state officials. The ride, which opened in 2010, will remain closed until an investigation is conducted. Cedar Point, owned by Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., has been named the "best amusement park in the world" for 15 years in a row.
