'Castlevania' Season 5 Might Feature Christopher Or Simon Belmont As New Protagonists?

"Castlevania" season 4 has officially closed the story of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades against the ills all-pervading Wallachia. But, what does the next season hold for viewers?

In previous news, the current "Castlevania" series will conclude in season four and a new series under the same universe will begin development. However, in an interview with Monsters and Critics, producer Kevin Kolde said that showrunners will go on “continuing the Castlevania universe” with a generation of characters.

Nonetheless, the show creators said that the next "Castlevania" series won’t be a spinoff. This could mean that the series will likely continue the Belmont lineage, but, who? Will it be Christopher Belmont or Simon Belmont?

For those who haven’t watched "Castlevania" season four yet, the next paragraphs contain a spoiler regarding its ending.

"Castlevania" season four ended with Trevor defeating Death, who was disguising itself as the maddening Varney of London. The latter even tricked Saint Germain to bring back Dracula and Lisa Tepes from hell into a Rebus.

In the end, viewers could see Trevor battling with Death and got pulled on into the Infinite Corridor. Two weeks later, a despondent and pregnant Sypha was asked by Alucard to stay at the castle and in the Danesti village, newly named Belmont.

However, they were greeted by the sight of Trevor himself who was thought to be gone after his battle with Death. Trevor explained that Saint Germain opened the Corridor before he died and that Trevor landed in the Danube.

The trio reunited and looked forward to the future.

But, that’s not all. The end clip showed Dracula and Lisa Tepes back and given a second life on Earth. So, how will this fit the continuity of the "Castlevania" universe?

Will the story start with the young Belmont child (either Christopher or Simon) looking to fight off evil? But, what evil will he face when season four sees Dracula coming back to life with his beloved wife?

Kolde told Monsters and Critics, “If we do another 'Castlevania' series, I may have another favorite Belmont.”

Only time can tell what season five will show fans of the franchise. But, the creators will continue the "Castlevania" series under a new generation of Belmonts. Will it be a sequel where fans follow Christopher or Simon Belmont or is there a likelihood of showing a prequel with Leon Belmont, whose, portrait hung by the Belmont Hold?

Fans may await the news for season five, but, they can always watch the finale on Netflix.
