Call of Duty
New DLC, Onslaught, receives an official release date. Infinity Ward

“Call of Duty: Ghosts” next DLC, Onslaught, has received an official release date courtesy of Infinity Wards Instagram account. The company posted to the social media application a video accompanied by the words, “Something menacing is coming Jan. 28. Get ready for the #Onslaught.” The video features the music from the menacing cult-horror classic “Halloween” franchise while a creepy figure runs around the woods with an axe. Check out the eerie and awesome Instagram video below or here.

The developer also revealed the new DLC, Onslaught, will introduce a new enemy to Extinction mode in the form of spiders and also revealed a new map will be added called Nightfall. However IGN reports, a Twitter user @SeriousSix2010 viewed a GameStop store display that might have revealed other maps that may be available in the DLC called Fog, Containment, Bayview and Ignition. Lastly, a bonus Maverick AR and Sniper Rifle are to be included in Onslaught.

Infinity Ward has plans to release four DLC packs for “Call of Duty: Ghosts.” IGN reports that the names of these packs have been revealed to be Onslaught, Devastation, Invasion and Nemesis. And when you take the first letter of each packs name is spells ODIN, who you may know as head of the Norse pantheon in mythology and who is commonly associated with war, victory and death. The DLC is expected to hit Xbox Live first and other consoles later. Infinity Ward has yet to announce a price for Onslaught but users with the Season Pass will get it for free.
