Brazilian superstar Claudia Leitte released "Carnaval," a new single featuring worldwide star rapper and singer Pitbull. The Spanglish track is the follow up to the hits "Lacradora" and "Baldin de Gelo." For weeks now, both hits have been part of the list of the most played songs in Brazilian radios. Written by Pitbull and a team of songwriters, the new song is available on all digital platforms.
“The name of the song itself already gives everything away, but Carnaval is also a very special song for me, because it is full of joy, has my identity and, at the same time, brings new rhythms to my work”, explains Claudia. With this song, she celebrates the 10-year anniversary of her solo career.
"Carnaval" is also a reunion, a full circle of her musical journey, reuniting her with Pitbull, to help her revisit this first decade. In 2014, together with Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez, she became one of the six Brazilians to appear in the Top 100 of the Billboard’s American chart, for six consecutive weeks, with "We Are One." In addition, Pitbull made a point of honoring all Latin American rhythms by including a sample of "Carnavalito" – a traditional folk music from Argentina and other countries such as Bolivia, Chile, Colombia and Peru that goes back to the time of the arrival of the European colonists in South America.
It should be noted that singing in another language comes naturally to Claudia. In 2006, when she was still part of the group Babado Novo, she recorded and wrote the song, "Stay," in English. In 2011, she also invited Ricky Martin to record the song, "Samba," with verses in English.
After countless spins in English and Spanish, in recent years she released singles in English like "Signs" (2015) and "Shiver Down My Spine" (2016), and the hit song entirely in Spanish, "Corazón" (2015), featuring the Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee.
