Former WWE champion Braun Strowman is officially out for now. Following his actions last week on Monday Night Raw, various speculations came out on why he was indefinitely suspended.
There were suggestions that it was scripted while others said that “The Monster Among Men” was injured. To answer that, most wanted to see if Strowman would be in any way intruding the sudden death Triple-Threat match involving AJ Styles, Matt Riddle and Keith Lee. The former champion was nowhere in sight.
Styles ended up getting that no. 1 contender opportunity, laying out Riddle with a Phenomenal Forearm in the Nov. 30 edition of WWE Raw. He will now face Drew McIntyre at WWE TLC for the WWE heavyweight title.
Unless the WWE has something planned, a new champion is unlikely to emerge at WWE TLC. It will be a good match to watch but McIntyre is likely to remain champion. Hence, it may be best to focus on the sidelights. Will Strowman emerge from nowhere to announce his return at the pay-per-view on Dec. 20?
There is no telling how long Strowman will be out. The latest update on the former champion is that he is getting treatment for a knee injury he suffered at WWE Survivor Series. The severity of the injury remains unknown and Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio believes he will be at TLC.
With a lot of questions in the air surrounding Strowman’s injury, the only thing that appears to be certain is that he will get a shot at the WWE title at some point. The WWE writing team seems divided on what the future holds for Strowman, some believing the WWE star will eventually get his shot at the championship moving forward.
For now, it will be interesting how Styles and McIntyre will drum up the hype for their upcoming clash. Also, it will be interesting what the WWE has planned for Lee and Riddle moving forward.
If both are not placed in a new storyline, could they get involved in the WWE title picture in some way? Or will a new feud either against or separately be happening for both WWE stars. The Dec. 7 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw may be able to answer that next week.
