Even at 55 years old, Brad Pitt is still one of the hottest male celebrities around, which is hardly surprising for someone who was once named as the sexiest man alive twice. But if recent reports are to be believed, there might be more to his youthful good looks than mere good genes.

People magazine first named Pitt as the sexiest man alive in 1995 and again in 2005. While there’s no doubt that the “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” actor is indeed an incredibly attractive man, various reports are claiming that he may have gone under the knife.

For instance, Australian-based publication NW reported suspicions of cosmetic surgery in a recently published article titled “The Curious Case Of Brad Pitt,” according to Gossip Cop. The publication reported that suspicions started when the actor was spotted in Mexico last month looking hotter and younger.

Apparently, the actor’s youthful appearance these days can no longer be attributed to a restful night. “It certainly appears that he has had eyelid surgery on both his upper and lower lids,” NW quoted a plastic surgeon named Dr. Manish Shah.

A similar story also came out from the American publication In Touch, which quoted the same surgeon, who named the procedure as blepharoplasty. The publication presented before-and-after photos to Dr. Shah for him to analyze.

“In the before picture he has large bags under his eyes, which have completely vanished in the now photo,” Dr. Shah said. “This cannot be chalked up to a good night’s sleep.”

But the doctor believes that it’s not only blepharoplasty that helped Pitt look this young. According to Dr. Shah, he might have undergone a couple of other cosmetic procedures to achieve a more alert look.

“He may have had some laser resurfacing under his eyes to smooth out wrinkling and Botox at the corners of his eyes to smooth out crow’s feet,” the doctor added. “Not only does this give him a more alert appearance, but it shaves years off his age and looks natural.”

But Gossip Cop is not impressed and calls NW’s story “more fiction.” The reason for the fact-checking site’s judgment is that the story appears to be based on “flimsy evidence” and that the differences in the supposed before-and-after photos can be explained.

The “before” photo that was used shows Pitt in mid-sentence, which naturally makes wrinkles more prominent. Meanwhile, the “after” photo shows the actor raising his eyebrows, an action that naturally tightens the skin. For a fair comparison, the site should have used photos showing Pitt with the same facial expression.
