Before Brad Pitt met and fell in love with Angelina Jolie on the set of “Mr. And Mrs. Smith,” he had been so madly in love with “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston for more than five years. Pitt and Aniston were the epitome of a Hollywood couple in love, but their love fizzled out when Pitt chose Jolie over Aniston.
Now that it’s over between Pitt and Jolie, a source has revealed that Pitt is now seeing things more clearly. He realized that leaving Aniston was the biggest mistake he’s ever done in his life.
While Pitt initially denied that Jolie had anything to do with his decision to split with Aniston, the truth came out a few months later when he confirmed his relationship with his “Mr. And Mrs. Smith” co-star. Eventually, the two got married and had six wonderful kids together.
Everything between Pitt and Jolie seemed well throughout their nine years of marriage. In 2016, the tides started to turn and Jolie took the world by surprise with her divorce announcement. Although their divorce is still not yet finalized, it is pretty clear that Pitt and Jolie are over.
After his split from Jolie, Pitt sobered up and sought therapy. His decision to seek help has made him more in touch with his emotions and his true self, like he never had in a long time. According to a source, one of Pitt’s biggest realizations after being sober was that one of his biggest failures in life was trading Aniston for Jolie.
“He’s come to realize that leaving Jen for Angelina was one of the biggest mistakes of his life,” the source said. “And while he’s not in love with Jen, he realizes how much he does love her. Brad keeps telling friends that he’s seeing everything more clearly,” the source added.
The source went on to reveal that after that realization, he was determined to apologize to Aniston for everything he had put her through. “…That’s exactly what he did,” the source said. “It was the most intimate conversation Brad and Jen have ever had,” the source continued, saying that the conversation had allowed Aniston to come to terms with her emotions and forgive Pitt.
