“Blindspot” Season 4 is now in full swing, which means that the plot is bound to get even more complicated than ever. After getting rid of her evil side (Remi) and killing Shepherd, Jane finds out that it’s not that easy to get rid of her past. In addition, she will come across more villainous characters happily hatching their own evil schemes, such as Madeline, whom the team will have to deal with in Episode 16.
“Blindspot” Season 4 Episode 15 Recap
The previous episode titled “Frequently Recurring Struggle For Existence” showed just how hard it would be for Jane to come to terms with her past and the things she did for Sandstorm as Remi. For instance, Patterson told Jane that the FBI cleaned out Sandstorm’s hideout, but Jane was a little hesitant when asked if she wanted to check out some of the stuff they found.
Of course, Jane was fearful that even in death, Shepherd might play some sort of a trick on her. It turned out that her instinct was spot on as she is soon flooded with memories, probably triggered by some of the things taken from the hideout. This would suggest that it might not be that easy to get rid of Shepherd’s influence on her; a potential trigger could be lurking just around the corner.
Meanwhile, an armored vehicle carrying weapons was robbed. However, the culprits seemed to know exactly what they were looking for. They ignored the weapons, only taking out a single box after making sure it has the correct serial numbers. The team later learned that the serial numbers matched one of Jane’s tattoos, which suggests that it must have something to do with her alter ego, Remi.
After some sleuthing, Rich and Patterson eventually came to the realization that the missing box contained plutonium and the heist was an insider job done by Greta Smalls after she joined SilverMark under an alias. Determined to weaponize the radioactive material, Greta scoured the dark web for a device that would help her achieve this goal.
The team intervened to disrupt the deal. But, to Jane’s surprise, Greta was actually working with Cameron Gibbs, whom Jane recognizes after getting back most of her memories. Using her identity as Remi, Jane improvised and tried to convince Gibbs to take her along. He initially agreed but suddenly locked her in a storage closet. He was actually doing Jane/Remi a favor as his original instruction was to kill the seller.
Gibbs eventually made it to his intended target, a military convention, with Jane hot on his heels after making her escape from the closet. “But I made a decision to change, to be better,” she tried to persuade Gibbs after telling her that it was she, as Remi, who orchestrated his military discharge and eventual recruitment into Sandstorm. With only revenge on his mind, Gibbs, however, was way beyond caring. Thankfully, Weller arrived just in time and shot Gibbs. While the crisis was averted, Jane can’t help but feel guilty over Gibbs’ death.
“The One Where Jane Visits An Old Friend” Trailer
Meanwhile, a brief trailer for “Blindspot” Season 4 Episode 16 was already released, giving hints on what Jane and her team could be up against next. Titled “The One Where Jane Visits An Old Friend,” Jane will finally be facing the master manipulator Madeline Burke next installment.
As the team tries to arrest Madeline, she appeared nonplussed as if everything going on is well within the scope of her calculations. “I’ve something special planned,” Madeline calmly said. Zapata then shouts “Get down!” suggesting that whatever Madeline was planning on has something to do with her escape.
“The FBI is hot on Madeline’s (Guest Star Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) heels as Jane (Jaimie Alexander) seeks help from a familiar enemy,” the upcoming episode’s synopsis revealed.
