It comes as no surprise to see a BitPay headquarters in Latin America, especially after the success Bitcoin has had in Argentina. According to BNAmericas, the digital currency company favored Argentina due to a couple of factors. The first being the instability of the Argentine peso, also extensive capital controls and regulations on purchasing U.S. dollars, and lastly, the relatively high internet and e-commerce penetration. The website also reports that a range of businesses in Argentina now accept Bitcoin as an official form of payment, including hotel and car rental services.
