Ben Affleck’s Ex Lindsay Shookus Is Not Making Him Jealous With Jon Hamm

A-list actors such as Ben Affleck will never go out of style in the rumor mills. After reports saying that he might be rekindling his romance with Jennifer Garner surfaced, another buzz followed in its wake involving yet another one of his exes.

This time it was “Saturday Night Live” producer Lindsay Shookus, whom Affleck reportedly dated in 2017 and early 2019, who was singled out by rumors. According to Gossip Cop, the report came from the US-based celebrity-focused publication Life & Style, which claimed that Shookus might only be dating Jon Hamm to make Affleck jealous.

Earlier, Shookus and the “Mad Men” actor Hamm were spotted together at a Broadway show. The sighting prompted talks that the two might be dating, but it was later denied by Hamm saying that he and Shookus are just good friends.

Despite Hamm’s clarification, Life & Style still ran a story hinting that the reason Shookus might be dating Hamm is to make Affleck jealous. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Lindsay’s going out with Jon simply to make Ben jealous,” the magazine quoted an unnamed source. “She’s a smart woman who knows how to play the game.”

Gossip Cop was suspicious of the story since it previously caught Life & Style publishing inaccurate reports about Affleck. For example, the magazine wrote a report in 2017 claiming that Shookus and Affleck were “secretly engaged,” which was obviously a bogus report since the actor’s divorce from Garner was not yet finalized at that time.

Nevertheless, the fact-checking site got in touch with a more reliable source. Just as Gossip Cop suspected, the insider confirmed that the story is “total nonsense.”

According to US Weekly, Affleck and Shookus started their romance in 2015, after the actor split from Garner. However, they only made their relationship public in July 2017 but ended it in August 2018.

They reportedly got back once more in February 2019. However, they split for the second time by April 2019.

“She has a kid and an ex-husband and a job in New York and Ben has his family and a job in L.A., and while they love and respect each other, they just realized it wasn’t going to work,” a source told US Weekly. “They really gave it another solid try.”

Meanwhile, tabloids still like to link Garner to her ex-husband even after their divorce. A recent rumor floated around saying that the ex-couple might be rekindling their romance. However, it was also debunked as Garner is actually in a relationship with businessman John Miller.
